ORIGINAL COOL — BUILT THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE
There’s a philosophy behind every Vintage Metals “Original Cool” build.
As standard, we try to build our scooters as close as possible to the original Innocenti and Piaggio factory standards - retaining the look, feel and character that made these machines so special in the first place.
But we also recognise that these scooters were designed for roads and conditions very different from today. So, where it makes sense, we quietly introduce some carefully chosen modern upgrades to improve usability and reliability.
Our Vespa builds, for example, are upgraded to 10-inch wheels for modern roads and use LML 5-port engines. Across our builds, our specification can include:
• 12v electrics as standard, including Ducati ignition and regulators
• Casa Lambretta & FA Italia sealed bearings wherever possible
• Casa Lambretta wiring looms
• OMG fast-flow petrol taps
• Scootopia carburettors
• ARIETE oil seals
• Casa Lambretta monograms and end caps
Why?
Because behind the shiny paintwork, we want to build the most dependable classic scooter we reasonably can, while still preserving what made the original machine special.
We’re not trying to build performance scooters.
We’re not chasing huge horsepower figures or creating something that no longer feels like a classic Lambretta or Vespa.
Original Cool is about keeping it simple. Keeping it classic. And getting the fundamentals right.
What we aim to give you is a beautifully restored, usable classic and a great blank canvas. If you want to keep it factory-style, brilliant. If you want more performance later, you have a solid starting point — and many of our customers ask us to incorporate additional upgrades into their individual builds.
We also work hard to achieve all of this while keeping our margins modest and our scooters accessible. That isn't always the easiest way to build a business, particularly when we're choosing recognised quality components, but we'd rather put the value into the scooter.
We know a 50- or 60-year-old design will always require a little more involvement than a modern machine. That's part of classic scooter ownership. But our goal remains simple:

RETRO-STYLE FURNITURE
Creative yet functional designer furniture pieces inspired by, and using elements from the iconic scooter come with numerous beautiful, bespoke design features. Just when you think design couldn’t get any cooler, Vintage Metals proves differently. Taking design elements from the iconic scooter, our range of bespoke and limited-edition furniture will make a bold statement in any space. Every piece is beautiful. Every piece is functional. Every piece is unique.
VINTAGE METALS CLOTHING
Our complimentary designer clothing range may be in its infancy but we have big ideas. Within 12 months of launch, we will be showcasing a full designer range of creative yet functional designs for him and her, all based around iconic designs but with a contemporary twist. To start the collection off we have a range of simple yet beautiful items with an emphasis on quality and branding. From embroidred Vintage Metals t-shirts in bold black and white, to the classic baseball cap with embroidered and tag design elements. By winter 2024 Vintage Metals will launch its full core range to compliment the design elements of its creative scooters and furniture.
